Twitter yelling at me
Every day I wake up with more twitter followers.

I have 5 twitter accounts and each of them with over 500 followers (@jasonloveslife has close to 6500). Each account is used for a different part of my business. One for this site, one for my Niche Site experiments, one for my comic character, etc.

My Twitter Tricks to Get Followers

It is very simple and takes only two steps

I apologizeThere are certain blogs that I check religiously.

At least once a week I go and see what’s going on with the author, maybe checkout the comments, and always get a lot of valuable information from them.

This is my goal for this blog. I want to be that for the webcomic creators, digital story tellers, and independent artists looking to make a living utilizing the internet. For those that are in any of those categories, I feel I have let you down.

My summer posts:

These are all the posts I published this summer.

Besides the two podcasts episodes (8 & 9), the other posts were not really written to help you (my readers). Instead they were self indulgent.

For that I apologize.

Why

The reason for my sudden drop off in blogging is for two important reasons.

  1. I make my living as a balloon twister and magician. The summer months are very busy for my industry.
  2. I am experimenting with Niche Sites as a way to fund my comic books and film projects. Doing this takes up a lot of my time now, but should give me a lot of freedom in the near future.

Conclusion

This is my promise to start writing regularly.

Niche Site Journal

Another Website I am Working On.

This is an update on where I am personally in the progress of my various projects. I stayed up all night with the goal of wrapping my head around my future, plans for this website, and if I am happy with where I am in my life.

The end result has become a feeling of clarity and exhaustion (due to staying up all night).

The reality is that I have accomplished a lot in my life time. I am not famous or rich (or even financial comfortable). I do, however, have the pleasure of saying I have done some fun, crazy, exciting things with my life and hope to continue with that trend.

The future

My goal this year is to find a way to fund my future adventures, art projects, and family life.

My plan is to create a website in a specific topic that seems as though I should be able to build up a constant stream of visitors and make money with ads. At the same time I am creating a separate website chronicling this business experiment.

You can visit this website at www.nichesitejournal.com.

What this means for Jason Loves Life

While I plan to share sporadically what is going on with this money making venture on this site, but my main focus for this site will remain to be on the business side of web comics with some articles on film making, animation, and my personal life.

My goal for the next few months is to post a minimum of once per week on this site. The new sites I am working on will take up a large chunk of my daily schedule, but I have finished up all my freelance work and my performance schedule will be slowing down after the month of August leaving me more time to write, create comics, and enjoy life.

The views expressed in this article are those of my own and not necessarily those of  Niche Site Journal or its members.

Let me be clear on a couple of things before I begin. This is not going to be a black vs white hat debate in terms of which is more effective. I simply want to clarify the differences between the two sides, without telling you which is better or which you should use.

If you aren’t familiar with the terms, “white hat SEO” is referring to the process of organically optimizing your website for search engines, in the hopes of them ranking your website high in their search results in return. Of course “black hat SEO” would be any tactics that try to trick or deceive search engines into thinking your website is of worth and rank you favourably in return.

Did you see what I said there?
