As I mentioned yesterday, I am adding some work and subtracting others.
I am currently in the process of relaunching this blog. At the same time, I’m consolidating the sites that I have dormant.
As the number of blogs I had been working on increased, I had less time to work on each. By dropping the number from six to two, I can focus my time on things that will help grow my blogs.
All the blogs I am working on:
–Jason Loves Life (this site)
–CompulsiveCreative.com
–Niche Site Journal
–Business Management Degree Hq
–OnMaternityBelts.com
–Madman of Magic (Comic Book)
For a long time, I felt that my inability to post consistently was a lack of work ethic. The reality is that as a solo entrepreneur, it is too much to expect to run, promote, create content, and all the other things related to running a successful blog for more than one at a time. It is possible to run multiple successful websites but is almost extremely hard without a team of some sort.
Having neglected these sites, I’ve seen a drop off of people visiting. None of these sites made money, so it isn’t a huge loss. It is just disheartening to think of all the time I put into them. I did learn a lot during that period and have used those sites to get freelance work.
Are you overwhelmed with too many projects? Working on a lot of things doesn’t mean you are productive, even if it feels that way. Be kind to yourself and limit the number of things you’re working on. This will mean more completed projects and a little less overwhelm.
Now get back to work.
