Last week we received the Kickstarter funding in our amazon account; which means we can start ordering prints for all of the cool rewards purchased by our backers. T-shirt, posters, and stickers have been put into their appropriate file format and sent off to the various printers. Once the proofs are finalized we just wait to get the final products in the mail. Their has been some revisions on the script for the comic. We are in the process of creating new images and reorganizing the panels for each page.
The Plan
Finish the comic book, send all the backers the .pdf copy, print the comic book, print the rewards, package everything, and send it all out in the next 7 weeks. Which sounds easy but our time table is counting a lot on the speed and quality of the companies we are choosing to partner with, so we will keep you updated on any changes time wise, but we created a schedule below to see how crazy busy these weeks will be.
I realize the guy in the front row has no arm; I need Leah to fix for the final copy.
Schedule
Here is a breakdown of our schedule as it is right now. You don’t have to read this but I posted it here to demonstrate how crazy busy we will be; but it is all worth it to get our comic book completed and an opportunity to show how appreciative we are that you backed our project.
- Oct 28 – Nov 3: Confirm orders for posters, t-shirts, and stickers; finalize new script & create new images.
- Nov 4 – Nov 10: Finish New images, work on paneling, and find requirements for submitting to different publishers.
- Nov 11 – Nov 17: Finish rough draft of comic, approve final copy, and create publisher submission packets.
- Nov 18 – Nov 24: Send final copy to printers (takes approximately 2 weeks to print), email the .pdf copies of the madman of magic comic book, get shipping addresses from all backers and submit to publishers.
- Nov 25 – Dec 1: Print Limited Edition Prints which we are making using a screen printing press and several days of hard work; preparing shipping label and packing material for sending everything out; and get home postage calculation system (to speed up sending process).
- Dec 2 – Dec 8: Receive printed comic books, sign those needing signing, put together reward packages, and ship.
Backers should expect to receive their physical copy and the rest of the rewards they ordered by December 14, 2012.
