In this episode I’m alone again (all by myself can be scary) talking about how to analytically choose your next project or to prioritize that list of projects you keep next to your desk. Then I go into tips to help you complete those projects once you get started.
After the last podcast with And He Drew (listen here) I realized that my struggle with priorities, focusing on one thing at a time, and deciding on what needs to be done first are not issues unique to me. Many artists struggle with this.
I feel confident saying the majority of creative types have this problem.
I hope you find my technique helpful, I have included a figure below that might help explain the process better that I was able to do in the podcast.
I just want you to know the ratings I gave in the podcast are different then those in the example even though I used the same projects and categories. I hope this isn’t to confusing. If you have any problems, feel free to mention it in the comments and I will clarify.
Also, Here is a demonstration of how I determine links between projects. I find this useful so that I can remember later and keep it in mind when I get to those steps in the first project.
Things Mentioned in this episode:
- My interview with AndHeDrew
From this interview I decided I needed to dedicate an episode of the podcast to how I choose what projects to work on. Juggling too much stuff in my daily life creates a lot of chaos and uncertainty.
If you check out Andrew’s website at www.andhedrew.com/ you can see he has tons of things going on as well. So, I hope those who can relate to Andrew and me get some benefit from my method. - rusdextendedlearning.com
Freelance work I have been doing for the local after school program. - the Niche Site Journal website
The new podcast I am working on. It is about making money online using Niche Sites. - Madman of Magic
The Comic Book I am working on.
