Creditors are not men. Or they forgot how to be. Come to just nothin’. They got out to the edge of the galaxy, to that place of nothin’, and that’s what they became.
Wait, that’s Reavers, but the more I think about it the more I realize
Credit card companies are like Reavers!
Maybe not a perfect comparison but if you want to be an independent artist, you better fear credit card debt like you would Reavers.
“They want us alive when they eat us.”
These companies want you to have enough money to pay each month, but not enough money to get out of the debt. And if you miss a payment every few months then you are their biggest cash cow.
How to Stay Away from Their Evil Grasps
The temptation is always there to use credit as a way to buy new equipment, see a new exhibit at the museum, or have dinner delivered when the creative juices are flowing.
I am asking you to fight off those temptations. Don’t give in to the “low interest” rates or the ease of pulling out a piece of plastic to pay your bills. I fall victim to this constantly, but I am just beginning to pull myself out of the dungeon know as credit card debt.
