Yesterday would have been my 11th blog post in a row for my 30 days of blog posts.
I didn’t write a post yesterday, but I have a good excuse. Both my kids are sick, my wife is stressed from the sick kids, and I’m neck deep in a big contracted project. Even though I broke my streak, I am not upset about it.
The point of writing daily for 30 days was to give myself permission to fail and to get used to writing daily. The goal isn’t there to make my life less enjoyable. If I had forced myself to write yesterday, it would have increased the chances of me quitting overall.
I did what I had to do, and now I am ready to keep working. All I am going to do is add work an extra day. Instead of finishing this challenge May 15, the last day will be May 16.
Goals and challenges you set for yourself are important, but you also need to ask yourself what the ultimate goal is and what failure would look like or mean.
My blogging challenge is back on track, and I am excited to continue. I will see you tomorrow.
