It has been another crazy week here at the Love Family Household.  Leah is Coming into her last month of pregnancy and we should have little Everett to take care of some time this month.  We are hoping that if we can crack the Online Marketing Business Code we can spend all our time at home or traveling with our child and possibly make some more children if everything goes well.

Even if we can get our niche site to make us a good part time income we would be happy. Leah can continue to work at UPS part time (which provides us with Insurance) and I can continue doing magic shows part time.

So, lets see where we are in this Niche Site Journal.

Week # 6 Results

Getting Indexed

Marketing Niche Sites is hard. There is a never ending amount of information with a lot of contradictory theories and techniques. I ended up spending a crazy amount of time just looking around at what other people thought on the subject.

There is a lot of content out there in a variety of forms. I spent more time watching videos, listening to podcasts and reading articles then I really should have.

My new philosophy is to just pick one person to follow on this and stick with that.

SEO WordPress App by Yoast software image

On page with post editing.

Just got SEO WordPress Plugin by Yoast and I have to say it is a little confusing.  I understand most of the concepts, but some of the tools I can’t figure out.  For example, I have already written a lot of this article and have used the word “seo” several times, yet it says content and page url are labeled as “NO”.

However, because of this list I realize they need to be there so I am working hard to include the words “seo”, “wordpress”, and “Yoast” in order to have a higher chance to get ranked for these keywords together.  Meaning even though the plugin’s list is not accurately showing “yes” or “no” in all sections for those keywords it still functions as a reminder for me to follow those rules.

Beyond this, the plugin does a lot more that I don’t completely understand or really want to take the time to learn.  As long as it is doing it’s job, I am happy

I am yet making a full time living with internet business, so it is important for me to pinch pennies where I can.  Today I have stumbled onto the fact that I have been purchasing multiple spellings for many of my site names (which seemed like a good idea at the time).

The problem with this now is I am spending $12 a year to register each and with one domain I own 5 versions.  Let’s do the math 5 domain x $12 = $60 a year. The kicker to this, is that this website is not currently monetized.  Meaning I am losing $5 a month on something that will hopefully make me money in the future.

PRO’s to getting multiple domains:
